The certified immigration consultants protect the dreams of the families that wish to settle in Canada

The door is still open for new immigrants

The Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultants (SCCI), created in 2004 to regulate the quality in the service, formation and professionalism of the immigration consultants, to protect the interests of the clients, gathered all of its members last May 2nd and 3rd in Toronto, Canada, for the national 2009 congress : "Build our future: today solutions."

Among the guests of this bi-annual event was, in spite of his busy agenda, the current Secretary of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, Jason Kenney who remarked the important work SCCI is performing, to which Jesus Hernandez, Director of CI Canada belongs.

"The good work of this organization is undermined by consultants that are working out of the law and regulations, in Canada or abroad, and whom frequently exploit the dreams of the people that wish to come to Canada. We should work together to stop the exploitation of our immigration system”, Kenney said.

This way, the Secretary left open consultations to the Association to solve the queries about the consumer’s protection, the recognition of the consultant in the immigration process, the creation of an appropriate system to sanction non certified consultants (ghosts) and the protection of the integrity of the certified consultants that help people from all over the world to fulfil their dream to educate their family in Canada.

Another relevant aspect of the conference was to emphasise that Canada is a developed country that welcomes larger quantities of immigrants in proportion with its number of inhabitants. Even today, amid the economic world crisis, this country is the only one that has committed to maintain its level of immigrants: from 240 to 260 thousand per year, that in Kenney’s words, means that in four years, 100% of the growth of the active population will come up form immigration.

The current Secretary also pointed out the importance of continuing supporting the foreign temporary workers programs, because according to the statistics, there are a great number of jobs that are not fulfilled by the Canadians. He also assured that the family reunification program will remain and he affirmed that the investments pro-integration have been quadrupled, especially in the language teaching programs.

“We are a different North America"

The youngest former prime minister of Canada, Joe Clark, enhanced that this country is a bridge between the developed countries and the developing ones, thanks to the excellent relations with all the nations and to its recognized commitment for international causes.

Due to its opening to the immigration, Canada goes toward the future with optimism, and has set and integration example for the world. Men and women of different origins, cultures, religions and races, work successfully together, evidencing some of the authentic qualities of the country: Managing the diversity and engender trust.

The former Secretary and parliamentarian emphasised the privileged position of the certified consultants, to have the opportunity to contribute directly to the enrichment of the Canadian identity.

The congress served to strengthen even more the bonds between SCCI and the Government of Canada; likewise, the assistants were able to exchange experiences and opinions on the pending topics of the Society.

Finally, the event set guidelines to CI Canada for the future: the responsibility of the Company in the formation of new consultants to assist the Latin American market, and the creation of latin-american certified consultants net, to support and protect the interests of the immigrants form the central and southern part of the continent.
